From the previous episode, in search of a custom sword, Kirito drops by Lizbeth’s Blacksmith shop. After destroying her current best weapon, he’s sent on a mission to gather materials for his own request.

Lizbeth, as the smith, will also be tagging along…

The materials that are needed are on Level 55 as a drop from a dragon. The fight is pretty tough, but Kirito’s almost got the dragon worn down when it spots Lizbeth and tries to harm her.

(How to Kill Your Dragon)

After Kirito and Lizbeth drop into a giant hole, they’re pretty much stuck as Teleport stones don’t work, and Kirito is unsuccessful about climbing the walls.

(Kirito found a tiny door, but you need a potion to shrink yourself to get through…)

Spending the night in the hole, Lizbeth finds herself liking Kirito for his coolness and warmth.

(Top programming can mimic body warmth!)

In the morning, they ride the dragon out of the hole. As they fall through the sky, Lizbeth realises that she will make Kirito the best sword, because of her feelings for him.

(If Lizbeth gets any happier, this will turn into a Ghibli movie)

The new sword, The Dark Repulser, is one of a kind, and a great success.

(Glittery swords are all the rage with Twilight fans)

Just as Lizbeth is confessing her feelings to Kirito, Asuna drops by. She’s Lizbeth’s best friend, and also knows Kirito.

Realising that she may have stepped into a complicated relationship, Lizbeth aborts her confession and heads off.

(“Hah! I don’t even like you properly, but Lizbeth can’t have you”)

Kirito finds her crying near a bridge, and she convinces him that her feelings aren’t important. Instead, he should complete Sword Art so they can all go home.

(Lizbeth admits that only the main characters can have a good time)

Overall, I’m not sure why this series is determined to have Kirito as a heart-throb, but every girl he meets is destined to fall in love with him. Asuna is still clearly the favourite to win any romance related battle.

The threat of being killed in a virtual world is still strong. So… the characters are happy to do mundane jobs and stick to the system?

It was an interesting reveal by Lizbeth who said, ‘if one person manages to complete Sword Art, they can all go home’. I thought they all had to finish the game? Is that why she’s happy to be a smith, and doesn’t fight.

I don’t mind the added romance, but I would prefer more forward moving plot, and some proactive action from Kirito. Get yourself home.

Rated – 3/5 Fluffy romance and some dragon killing.
